Five years of DataCite: rendering research data accessible and citable
The non-profit organisation DataCite has registered almost 4 million digital object identifiers (DOIs) for research data and other research objects to date. It is currently funded by 30 members in 19 countries.
ETH-Bibliothek has been involved in the development work for DataCite from the very beginning. As the Swiss DataCite member, it enables all Swiss university and research institutions to register DOI names with ETH Zurich's DOI Desk. It represents the interests of Swiss DOI customers on the DataCite Board and is committed to the further development of standards and guidelines for the publication of research data in the DataCite workgroups.
The association is launching a new logo and website to coincide with its 5th birthday: www.datacite.org (external link).
