sMapshot in new design and with new functions

sMapshot (external link), the platform for georeferencing photographs, surprises with a fresh layout and new functions. The most important new features are:

  • Extended map selection: historical Dufour and Siegfried maps
  • Improved navigation buttons
  • Navigation by mouse

On 14 February 2020, the Image Archive starts its next campaign (external link) with colourful Swissair aerial images (external link). Try out the new functions and find the aerial images on the map.

The ETH Library Image Archive has extensive holdings with high historical value, including over 3.5 million analogue images that date back as far as the 1860s. The Image Archive Online catalogue contains around 530,000 digitized images, which are available to download free of charge, wherever possible, from the E-Pics platform (external link).
