Bibliometrics: new methods in the age of Big Data
Classical bibliometrics measures the number of published papers. That is being done by a systematic evaluation of journal articles with regard to the literature used and cited. The almost 100 years old method has progressed in the age of big data. These days, trends like usage metrics or altmetrics have become firmly established.
