New quality criteria for the Directory of Open Access Journals
The Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) has revised its process for the inclusion of new journals.
From now on, publishers have to provide extensive information on the open-access policy and the editorial process for every journal. All journals already listed in the DOAJ also have to submit this data by the end of 2014. With this measure, the DOAJ is looking to help generate greater transparency in the field of quality-controlled open-access journals. Journals with a particularly high quality standard will be awarded the "DOAJ Seal" in future.
