Etwa 1972 begann Eduard Imhof noch einmal mit einer neuen Karte. Das Reliefbild zu dieser Karte entwarf er als mehrfarbiges Aquarell auf 4 Blättern 1:200 000. Die Karte wurde 1982 vom Bundesamt für Landestopographie reproduziert und herausgegeben unter dem Titel "Relief der Schweiz, ein Kartengemälde 1:300 000 von Eduard Imhof".
