ETH Library at Scientifica
Under the banner of “Maps and Insects Tell the (Hi)Story of Zurich (external link)”, ETH Library is teaming up with the Entomological Collection to take part in this year’s Scientifica. At our stand in the Lichthof of the University of Zurich, we tell you stories about geodata and maps, butterflies or data degradation. And you will see even more fascinating insects if you join one of our tours (external link) of the Entomological Collection.
At our crowdsourcing workshop, you can georeference digitized historical maps yourself. We answer the question as to how maps and insects are actually digitized in two short videos.
Would you like to find out more about the topic of data management (external link)? Then pop into the Science Café between 13.30 and 14.30 on Saturday.
The Graphische Sammlung and focusTerra (external link) also offer a rich programme that the whole family can enjoy. It includes a short Graphische Sammlung presentation on forgery in art (external link).
Scientifica takes place at the University of Zurich and ETH Zurich from 1 to 3 September with an extensive programme (external link) that offers something for everyone.
