Swiss copyright law
ETH-Bibliothek plays an active role for ETH Zurich within the scope of the revision process of Swiss copyright law.
The course has been – and still is being – set for adjustments to the copyright law that accommodate the parameters of an increasingly digital society at both national and European level.
ETH Zurich expressly welcomes the modernization of the copyright law. From ETH Zurich’s perspective, the aim of revising the copyright law is to create optimal parameters for research, teaching and knowledge transfer. These pave the way for strengthening Switzerland as a science hub. At the same time, the aim is also harmonization at European level – wherever it is possible and makes sense. This creates the best possible parameters for international projects and collaborations, a prerequisite for excellent science. Moreover, adjustments to the legal provisions for the latest technological developments are necessary/essential to support research and teaching optimally.
